FAQs

Second Season Offers Elevated Adult Day Retreats

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Services

Does Second Season provide transportation?

We do not provide transportation, as seniors at our activities center would spend too much time on a bus while making rounds to pick up. Instead, we encourage family members and caregivers to assist with transportation so seniors can arrive on time and enjoy the programs at our activity center without the stress of lengthy commutes.

Can we give medications?

At our senior activities center, we understand the importance of medication management for our members. While we cannot directly administer medications, we can remind seniors when it’s time to take their medications. Family members must provide each dose in a labeled bottle and the senior must keep it on their person during the day. We’ll then assist them by reminding seniors when it’s time to take their medications, providing water, and ensuring they take their medications on time. We believe that this approach helps maintain seniors’ independence while also ensuring their medications are taken on time.

Can Second Season help with incontinence?

Yes, health is a top priority at Second Season so we take the issue of incontinence care seriously at our senior activities center. We understand incontinence can be a delicate topic, and we want to create a comfortable environment for all our residents. Our staff is trained to handle a variety of incontinence situations and are ready to provide any necessary support whenever needed, so every senior feels dignified and cared for during their time under our care.

Can you accommodate someone with food allergies?

Absolutely! Our cafe staff is well-trained to manage dietary restrictions, including a variety of food allergies. Before any meals are served, our staff will always check with seniors about any allergies or dietary needs they may have. Our proactive approach allows us to provide delicious and safe meal options so everyone can enjoy their dining experience without worrying about allergens.

How much time do I need to sign up for?

We want to be as flexible as possible with scheduling at our activities center while also leaving time for our staff to prepare and organize activities. There is no set number of hours required for seniors to sign up; however we kindly request a schedule to be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Our center is open for scheduling from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays. We look forward to welcoming new seniors into our community!

Can I use Long Term Care Insurance at Second Season?

Absolutely! Long-term Care insurance is a separate insurance policy that covers activities of daily living and care provided in a facility, such as a Second Season day retreat.

How much will my LTC Insurance cover?

Every policy coverage is different, so it is important to check your daily coverage amount before scheduling. Policies often range from $100 – $380 per day paid out for the care needed.

Can I use a LTC Insurance plan I just purchased?

Unlike health insurance, LTC has a waiting period before you can start using it so unfortunately you cannot use it right after purchasing it.
